It's been 55 years since Porsche introduced its successor to the 356. Originally dubbed the 901, it became an immediate hit and is now a lasting icon. The 2020 Porsche 911 Coupe represents its eighth generation. Iconic silhouette intact, the new model is 45mm wider at the front, emphasizing the slim center section, with a bonnet that recalls the original. The dash emphasizes horizontal layout, another callback to the 901. It's powered by a turbocharged flat-six engine developing nearly 450 hp, sent to the ground via a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Technological highlights include a new "Wet" mode that detects moisture on the road and adapts for added safety, an available thermal imaging camera, and "swarm intelligence" navigation.
