Mercedes all-new Maybach S-Class aims to be the best luxury sedan on the market, with an emphasis on being driven instead of driving. While the driver and front passenger will be swathed in rich materials, the back seat is where the Maybach shines. Rear-seat travelers will find twin Executive seats with a calf massage function and adjustments for the seat, backrest, and leg rest that allow for a full-length sleeping surface. Automatic lighting and gesture control for the roller sunblind mean that touching controls is nearly a thing of the past, and a cooler keeps champagne chilled at the perfect temperature. Engine choices range from a mild-hybrid inline-six, twin-turbo V8, and twin-turbo V12 — plenty of power for crossing the Continent at triple-digit speeds. The Mercedes-Maybach will be available before the end of 2020.
