2022 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500KR Coupe

In 1968, Shelby debuted the Mustang GT500KR — KR standing for "King of the Road". With a 428ci Cobra Jet V8, fiberglass hood, scoops, and spoilers, it was Shelby's ultimate expression of the Mustang. Over 50 years later, Shelby is celebrating their 60th anniversary with a new GT500KR, based on the latest-generation GT500. The GT500KR gets a Whipple supercharger to push output of the 5.2-liter V8 to just over 900 horsepower, along with a new intercooler setup and Borla exhaust. Height-adjustable springs, larger swaybars, and a recalibrated MagneRide suspension help get the power to the pavement, along with 20-inch wheels and high-performance rubber. The hood and front and rear spoilers are made from carbon fiber, and a new stripe package and emblems make the GT500KR stand out from lesser Mustangs. Total production for the GT500KR will be 225 units.
