2023 Lexus RZ 450e Electric SUV

Lexus parent Toyota was a hybrid pioneer with the Prius, yet has fallen behind in the race to electrify its lineup. It's working hard to catch up, and the next step is the 2023 Lexus RZ 450e. The first all-electric vehicle from the upscale marque has an all-wheel-drive system dubbed Direct4 that uses numerous measurements to dynamically move power between the front and rear wheels. Its eAxles fully integrate the motor, transaxle, and inverter in a single unit, and an optional steer by wire system improves driver feedback. The roomy interior lets in plenty of natural light, and offers an optional heads-up display, a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and "expressive" custom sounds to replace the notes of a traditional ICE powertrain. The RZ 450e is expected to go on sale by the end of 2022.
