2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe & Cabriolet
The bad news: Mercedes is dropping the C and E-Class coupes for 2024. The good news: The coupes are being replaced with a single two-door model, the CLE. Mixing design elements from the C and E-Class, the CLE is slightly longer than the outgoing E-Class while being nearly half a foot longer than the C-Class. Most of that added length comes from the overhangs, although the shape retains the smooth, crisp lines of Mercedes' current design language. A 255 horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four powers the base CLE300, while the CLE450 gets the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six making 375 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Both models get all-wheel-drive and nine-speed automatic transmission, with front and rear multilink suspension; the CLE450 gets stiffer sport-tuned components to better handle the added power. The cabin is largely carried over from the current C-Class but uses the 2024 E-Class MBUX software, with certain app integration and an algorithm that runs the HVAC automatically according to past usage. The CLE will launch in 2024.
