Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Test

A majority of experts agree that fast, cheap testing is key to containing the spread of COVID-19. That's exactly what Abbott's new BinaxNOW antigen test provides. The credit card-sized test uses specimens from a simple nasal swab and lateral flow technology to deliver 97.1% accurate positive readings and 98.5% accurate negative readings within 15 minutes. It will work in conjunction with the company's Navica app, which will let those who test negative display a temporary digital "health pass" on their phone. Abbott plans to ship tens of millions of the point-of-care tests in September, with production ramping up to 50 million a month in early October.
