Alpine A110 E-ternite Coupe
Alpine's A110 reinvigorated the French manufacturer since its relaunch in 2017. The two-seat, mid-engined flyweight is a true sports car in the Alpine tradition — and now, the A110 is going electric. The A110 E-ternite replaces the A110's internal combustion engine with a battery pack and electric motors from parent company Renault. Weight increases were kept to around 570 pounds over the ICE-powered A110. Power comes in at 268 horsepower, with a top speed estimated at 155 MPH and a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds. A special dual-clutch transmission was also developed for the prototype, along with another feature — a retractable hardtop, a first for Alpine. Alpine also experimented with sustainable materials for the electric A110, with a second prototype sporting front and rear bumpers and side skirts made from a flax-derived material.
