Art of Play Just Type Playing Cards

Art of Play and graphic design authority Pentagram collaborate to pay homage to the art of typography. Designed by Paula Scher, Jeff Close and Kristin Huber, the Just Type Playing Cards come in two unique editions that tribute the multitude of ways that letterforms can be used to communicate. Edition 1 is a modern deconstruction of classic poker cards, removing all extraneous elements and shattering the oversized letters and numbers nearly beyond recognition. The result is a bold, abstract reimagining of the traditional french design. Edition 2 takes a minimalist approach to the typical 56 cards and combines the suite and value into a single mid-century-inspired graphic. Fun and visual, both sets are beautiful ways to elevate card games, cardistry, and magic.
