You'd surely need to jump through some hoops to get your hands on one, but if you're looking for the ultimate off-road-capable stuff carrier, the Mercedes-Benz Unimog ($TBA) is worth a look. Completely redesigned, the new Unimog is available in a dizzying ten different models, all of which offer features like a lower center of gravity, high ground clearance, axle articulation of up to 30°, LED headlights, improved cabins with greater visibility, multifunction steering wheels, and a tire inflation system that lets you choose the appropriate pressure for the terrain.

    We're not sure who it's really for — multi-millionaires with secret lairs miles away from the nearest road, perhaps? — but we do know it's badass. The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 (£350,000; roughly $525,000) is the biggest, most rugged offroader Stuttgart's ever produced. As the name suggests, it features six wheels for increased traction, a twin-turbocharged 5.5L AMG V8 cranking out 536hp, a seven-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive. It's not all rugged capability, though, with an interior that features copious amounts of leather and Alcantara, sports seats, and other luxurious appointments. Details are still scant on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee ($TBA), but it's believed to be a replacement for the far more feminine Liberty. Word also has it that it's built atop the Dodge Dart's platform, making it at most mid-sized and at worst an oversized hatchback. But none of that's the first thing you'll notice. Instead, you'll be staring at the bent-backward slotted grille and the sleek new headlamps — in fact, you're doing that right now, aren't you? Arriving in Q3 2013.
