Uncommon Type

There aren't many who can turn a hobby like collecting typewriters into a respected collection of short stories. But that's exactly what Uncrate superfan Tom Hanks has done, and we aren't surprised at all. Uncommon Type is the first book from the King of Hollywood and is made up of 17 fictional stories, each one involving a different typewriter. The short stories range from an immigrant arriving in New York City after his family and life have been torn apart by his country's civil war, to a bowler whose perfect game streak pushes him towards stardom with ESPN, and the junket life of an actor — something Hanks knows plenty about.
