It took two years of R & D to create this unique take on a horology icon. Named for race car driver and collaborative partner Juan Pablo Montoya, La Montoya Gold is a skeletonized version of the Rolex Daytona. Apart from the hand-made dial with its gold indices and counters painted to match the Colombian flag, it also has a custom Tachymeter bezel machined from a forged carbon block and a solid 21-carat gold openwork rotor, visible through the sapphire caseback. Limited to just 42 examples in an ode to Montoya's car number, it's powered by a completely reworked, hand-beveled, and hand-finished 4130 Rolex Caliber movement.
