Banksy's Show Me the Monet

15 years ago, anonymous street artist Banksy unveiled Show Me the Monet as a part of an exhibition in London. The painting draws direct inspiration from Claude Monet's famous The Water Lily Pond and finds the satirical artist reworking the legendary piece with an orange traffic cone and shopping carts littering a pond. The polluted piece of art is now going up for auction via Sotheby's with a pre-sale estimate of between $3.8-6.4 million USD. The auction will take place alongside the Modernités auction in Paris in Sotheby's third live stream auction event, "Modernités / Contemporary".
