Bardstown Bourbon Train Excursion
Nestled in rolling hills an hour south of Louisville, Kentucky, Bardstown is in the heart of bourbon country. My Old Kentucky Dinner Train's Bardstown Bourbon Excursion offers a two-and-a-half-hour train ride through the scenic countryside, complete with a four-course meal and bourbon tasting. From the historic depot in Bardstown, patrons will board two restored 1940's dinner cars pulled by vintage 1950's F-unit locomotives. The meal is prepared fresh en route, while a master distiller performs the bourbon tasting. The route passes through notable locations like the Jim Beam distillery, Jesse James' safe house, and the Jackson Hollow Trestle, with a lesson in the area's history presented along the way.
