This multi-layered rye is one of the best spirits from an up-and-coming producer. Barrell Craft Spirits just racked up a bunch of awards at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, including a double gold for this rye. The blenders started with barrels that once held Tennessee Rye and added Polish Rye to bring nuttiness to the already caramel-rich profile. 13-year-old Canadian Rye was added next for some earthy notes, and Indiana Rye was the last one to join the party to finish things off with some candied fruit and spice. The complex spirit is bottled at a cask-strength 116.7 ABV.
