Bentley Torcal Electric SUV
Bentley's fourth model line, and the first built without a combustion engine, is named after El Torcal de Antequera, a dramatic limestone landscape in southern Spain. The word also carries a second meaning: Torcal traces back to the Latin torquere, "to twist," the same root that gives English the word torque, the very force an engine or motor uses to turn the wheels. Fittingly, the Torcal S, the most powerful Bentley ever built, makes 996 pound-feet of that torque, enough to surge off the line and pass on the highway effortlessly. The floating diamond grille uses 76 individually hand-applied LED diamonds, while inside, curved digital screens sit alongside hand-finished veneers and upholstery made from leather and Dinamica, a sustainable suede-like material. It shares its underlying platform with the Porsche Cayenne Electric, though Bentley's own engineering work is what gives it a distinct character behind the wheel. To make its 876 horsepower more immersive, Bentley engineered the Dynamic Symphony, piping in a V8-like soundtrack built from real orchestral timpani recordings that grows louder as you accelerate.
