Birdbox Prefab Cabin

From its design to its footprint, the Birdbox Prefab Cabin takes a minimalist approach to the nature retreat. The compact cube created by Norwegian studio Livit features a sleek, black exterior and circular windows. Perched on a set of stilts, the structure sits lightly on the land for little impact to the terrain while helicopter delivery allows for installation in the most remote locations. Inside, the single-room interior is like a cozy cocoon offering a bed, desk, and sitting area wrapped in views of the rugged scenery. The unique shelter comes in two sizes — a Mini and a Medi — and can include an additional box to house a bathroom along with solar panels. While personal Birdboxes are available for purchase, two cabins have already been placed above the Førdefjord in Fauske and in the mountains in Langeland and are available for rent.
