BMW 1600 GT Convertible Prototype

One of only two prototypes commissioned from Italian bodywork designer Pietro Frua — and the only one to survive — this BMW 1600 GT Convertible is a one-of-a-kind specimen. Given to BMW's majority shareholder at the time, it passed on to his family and then several other private owners before BMW Group Classic tracked it back down. An exhaustive restoration was then carried out by the vocational training team at BMW's Dingolfing plant, the same place where the car born in 1967. Painted silver with a red top and matching interior, it now resides in the collection of BMW Classic.
