BMW R20 Concept Motorcycle

The R20 first appeared as a 192cc, single-cylinder motorcycle in 1931, part of a German government scheme where motorcycles under 200cc were not subject to tax or license requirements. How times have changed. BMW's just-unveiled R20 concept packs a 1,999cc boxer-twin, based on the R18's engine. BMW didn't release figures, but expect a step up from the R18's 91 horsepower and 116 lb-ft of torque. The R20's wheelbase measures 61 inches versus the R18's cruiser-like 68.2 inches, with a rake of 27.5 degrees, bringing it into striking distance of the RT12 nineT's specs. Fully adjustable Ohlins Blackline components comprise the fork and rear monoshock, with radial calipers from ISR at the front and rear. Despite it being a concept, the R20 looks ready for production. Expect to see it appear in dealers for the next riding season.
