BMW x Futura 2000 M2 Competition Coupe

BMW and the world of fine have a long history. The BMW Art Car project was started by French racecar driver and auctioneer Hervé Poulain, who had the idea of the automobile as canvas. From Roy Lichtenstein, Frank Stella, Andy Warhol, and modern artists like Sandra Chio and Jeff Koons have all used BMWs as the material for their work. At Frieze Los Angeles 2020, BMW will debut the latest collaboration between the German automaker and the arts — three M2 Competition Coupes designed by Futura 2000. In addition to the three one-off models at Frieze, BMW will also produce 500 examples with the artist's unique work. The production models will feature two-tone leather M seats in black and ivory white with polar blue contrast stitching. Special door sill trims with the limited-edition number and Futura's signature, along with hand-painted front and rear aprons and sills. Jet-black 19-inch complete the package. The special model will be available in June 2020.
