Viberg is a family owned and operated Canadian footwear manufacturer. Based in Victoria, BC, they make boots and other shoes with the best materials, sourced from all over the globe, using the same traditional methods — over 200 steps go into each pair — they've used since their founding in 1931.
The result of a pattern trade between Edwin Viberg and Bill Danner in the 1970s, we've taken Viberg's classic Hiker boot and added a special ripple sole, gunmetal hardware, and black Horween leather to create this Uncrate edition. The foundation of the Viberg x Uncrate Hiker boot is the Vibram ripple sole, a descendant of the original ripple sole invented in the 1950s to give U.S. paratroopers increased traction and softer landings. The impact-absorbing and long-wearing design of the ripple sole is perfect for nearly any application you can put it through, from mountaineering to long city treks. The handcrafted boot is built with stitchdown construction and 200g Thinsulate, and is naturally waterproof thanks to a whole-cut upper, while a lace-to-toe system provides better support and easier access. Made in Canada.
We suggest taking a half-size down from your normal sneaker size, as sizing listed is "Viberg" sizing.
