Breakfast at Tiffany's First Edition
The New York International Antiquarian Book Fair is full of rare literary treasures but one item outshines them all. A first edition of Breakfast at Tiffany's will be available during the four-day event. Bound by Kate Holland, it features a custom black goatskin hardcover with a 1950s map of Manhattan. Its main streets are platinum pavé set with 30 carats of diamond, while the side streets are blind tooled. At the intersection of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street a one-carat, emerald-cut sapphire marks the Tiffany Flagship store, and the title down the spine is finished in platinum. The opulent piece comes in an ebonized birdcage and is housed in a Louis Vuitton-inspired trunk.
