Captn Vaiaro Autonomous Electric Ferry

As autonomous and electric systems take over the waterways, partners from Kiel University and the University of Applied Sciences image the future of public transportation, and the Captn Vaiaro was born. Standing for Clean Autonomous Public Transport Network, the electric ferry concept is envisioned on the Kiel Fjord to transport passengers from the west and east side with an electric propulsion system, resulting in quiet journeys with zero emissions. The prototype has spawned two designs — a sleek, glazed vessel and a rectangular ferry with a lattice-style covering — both creating an experience that makes the ferry ride a must for visitors and residents alike.
