Clayoquot Wilderness Resort
Situated along the waterfront on Vancouver Island, the Clayoquot Wilderness Resort is so remote it's only accessible by floatplane. Guests are shuttled in by horse-drawn carriage to 25 white canvas tents lining the water's edge. Every room is furnished with king beds, antique furnishings, heated bathroom floors, an outdoor shower, and a private deck. Salvaged cedar walkways lead guest to the spa, dining tents, the Cookhouse, and the Ivan Hoe lounge, a new addition to the property where guests can relax and gaze at the Bedwell River behind 10-foot glazed walls. Due to its rustic location, the water and forest provide horseback riding, fishing, whale-watching, and kayaking, all included in your stay. For the non-traditional adventure, their on-site helicopter can take any activity — fishing, zip lining, even yoga — off the ground.
