Daniel Arsham is animating his eroded sculptures for his first NFT collection. Created in collaboration with design studio Six N. Five, the time-based digital artwork features pieces from the New York-based artist's recent exhibition at Galerie Perrotin in New York, which included ancient sculptures inspired by pieces from the Louvre's collection. The historic busts are set against a Japanese-inspired landscape that depicts the changing seasons as the sculptures decay over the course of a year. Once the 12 months are complete, it will reform and repeat the cycle every year, forever. The full collection will include 10 pieces that operate on different time frames, with one edition changing over the course of a millennium. Titled, Eroding and Reforming Bust of Rome (One Year), the non-fungible token will releases on Nifty Gateway on May 22, 2021.
