Darth Vader's Lightsaber

Darth Vader's battle against Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: A New Hope was extremely short, but his lightsaber played a prominent role in his duels against Luke in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Now the prop handle that was used on-screen for those iconic films is coming up for sale. Crafted from a vintage British press camera flash handle, the custom piece also has plastic grips, calculator bubbles, cosmetic wiring, and a pole at the top to facilitate mounting of the wooden rods that served as on-set stand-ins for the glowing blades we all remember. It will be auctioned as part of Prop Store's Entertainment Memorabilia sale this September.
