Eddie Van Halen's Kramer Electric Guitar

In 1975, rock icon Eddie Van Halen created the "Frankenstein" guitar by mixing parts from various Fender and Gibson guitars. Seven years later, he visited the Kramer factory in Neptune, New Jersey, to work on what would become the #1 Edward Van Halen Model guitar. This guitar. Painted in red with white and black stripes, was played by Eddie on tour in 1982 and 1983 at concerts in the United States and South America. Sometime later, it was gifted to his guitar technician, Rudy Leiren — as noted by the inscription on the body — before being sold to Mick Mars of Motley Crue, who used it extensively while recording Dr. Feelgood. It's coming up for auction as part of Sotheby's Rock & Pop auction on October 24th in New York.
