Ewan McGregor's 1972 Porsche 911 Targa
This 1973 Porsche 911 Targa emerged from nearly four decades of storage in 2019 when it was bought by actor Ewan McGregor. This survivor is essentially exactly as it would have been in 1973, minus replacing the rear window with fixed glass instead of the zip-out plastic window found in most early Targas. The black interior has seats trimmed in Pepita cloth and a Porsche Classic radio with modern connectivity has replaced the original unit. Out back is a stock 2.4-liter flat-six, a five-speed transaxle, and the requisite Fuchs wheels. The car has covered a total of 38,000 miles, only 2,000 of which has been by noted vehicle enthusiast Mr. McGregor himself. The car recently sold at Bring a Trailer for $166,000.
