FiiO Snowsky Echo Nano

Before devices could be a music player, a camera, a wallet, a phone, and a messaging app simultaneously, a music player only played music. The Echo Nano is built around that same restriction: a single metal scroll wheel, no app, no touchscreen to swipe past, and nothing to stream, which means with no ads, there's nothing between pressing play and hearing the song. Underneath that simplicity, FiiO Snowsky put a Cirrus Logic CS43131 DAC chip known for outperforming its price bracket, decoding DSD256 alongside FLAC, WAV, APE, MP3, and AAC files off a microSD card and out through a 3.5mm jack. Plug it into a phone or laptop instead and it reverses roles, working as a USB DAC that replaces the source device's built-in audio hardware entirely. The wheel that made those old players a hassle to navigate is the same thing keeping this one free of a feed to scroll through.
