Gary Grant 502-Ft Hybrid Superyacht Concept

American studio Gary Grant Design has unveiled a 502-foot hybrid superyacht concept that, if built, would be the largest and fastest hybrid vessel of its kind in the world. Studio founder Gary Grant, winner of Showboat International's Most Innovative Design award, spent 12 months engineering the concept from the ground up around an entirely new propulsion system. The result: Wärtsilä 31 engines and a large energy storage system with electric drives powering two waterjets, backed by twin Rolls-Royce MT30 gas turbines driving two additional Wärtsilä waterjets, capable of 50 knots while remaining able to run emissions-free at lower speeds. Above the waterline, the design is unmistakably Grant's: a continuous sculpted glass superstructure wraps the entire vessel, the main saloon rising to a 17-foot ceiling behind floor-to-ceiling glazing that turns the space into something closer to a double-height penthouse than a yacht interior. Open-plan layouts and convertible beach clubs complete a vision built around wellness, entertainment, and absolute privacy at giga-yacht scale.
