Gawthorne's Hut
Overlooking a pond on a working farm in Australia, Gawthorne's Hut is a modern refuge in rural New South Wales. The off-grid cabin is inspired by agrarian sheds and features a clean, angular silhouette clad in galvanized steel. Its interior is enveloped in warm wood and features a cozy retreat for two with a kitchenette, king-size bed, and bathroom with a freestanding tub. Even when inside, guests are immersed in the landscape with expansive glazing that frames in views of the pastoral setting in every direction. To keep the retreat self-sufficient, it's equipped with solar panels, a rainwater collection system, and utilizes natural ventilation. in the summer and a wood-burning stove during the winter.
