Genesis revealed the electric Genesis X GT concept on a roof overlooking the city of Los Angeles — a fitting location, as California is the epicenter for electric vehicles. What's most shocking about the Genesis X is what it isn't — another crossover or SUV. With its low-slung long hood/short deck shape and flared fenders that evoke the Mercedes 300 SL and Aston Martin GTs, the Genesis X is both refreshing and attractive. Innovative elements like the quad LED strips that run from the grille, down fenders, and to the door lines utilize Genesis' existing design language without adding clutter or gimmicks. Inside, the sporty, two-tone interior wraps around the driver, making an over-sized, distracting touchscreen unnecessary. While the Genesis X is a concept, we can hope that it has an outsize influence on the company's car design going forward.
