George Harrison's 'Ransom' Les Paul Guitar

In August of 1968, Eric Clapton gifted his friend George Harrison a cherry red 1957 Gibson Les Paul Standard he nicknamed Lucy. Almost five years later, the guitar was stolen from his home, sold to Whalin's Sound City on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, and subsequently sold to musician Miguel Ochoa. After The Beatle tracked down his guitar, he traded Ochoa a 1958 sunburst Les Paul Standard, now known as George Harrison's "Ransom" Les Paul. The storied guitar is now being sold by Heritage Auctions, with bidding beginning on September 17, 2022.
