Gingerbread Dreamhouse
Kelly Wearstler updates the classic gingerbread house in California modernist style. Inspired by Rudolph Schindler and Frank Lloyd Wright, the interior designer replaces the traditional gabled silhouette with a flat roof and low-lying profile. Floor-to-ceiling glazing, porthole windows, and checkered facade finish the modernist aesthetic. Made in collaboration with pastry chef Mark Tasker and retailer Flamingo Estate, the Gingerbread Dreamhouse will be hand-delivered in Los Angeles and New York with proceeds going to Create Structure, a non-profit organization creating housing for refugees displaced by the climate crisis.
