Glass Resort

Finland's Glass Resort lets you cozy up under the Northern Lights in your own private igloo. Located near Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, the hotel is comprised of a series of transparent cabins tucked inside a thick forest. The buildings are inspired by traditional "Kota" huts lived in by the indigenous Sámi people. Their interiors have been updated from the traditional teepees with Scandinavia-designed living areas, kitchenettes, private saunas, and hot tubs. Guests can take in views of the landscape through expansive glazed walls or allow the Aurora Borealis to lull them to sleep beneath the lofted bedroom's see-through ceiling. Located in the main building, a shingled dome houses a restaurant. The two-story eatery continues the glass theme by serving breakfast and Lappish-style fare from behind a slanted wall of windows.
