Highland Park Cask Strength No.4 Scotch Whisky
Highland Park celebrates its 225th anniversary in September. Ahead of the celebration, the Orkney-based distillery is releasing Cask Strength No.4. The scotch whisky is not diluted or chill-filtered, but is instead aged in a mix of first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak casks, ex-bourbon casks, sherry-seasoned American oak casks, ex-port hogsheads, and a small number of refill casks. The resulting liquid is a deep, rose gold color with initial notes of toasted coconut and Turkish Delight that blend in with flavors of pink grapefruit, rose water, toasted oak, and heather-rich peat. Available in limited quantities this year only, it's bottled at 64.3% ABV.
