Ineos Grenadier SUV
When Sir Jim Ratcliffe decided the new Land Rover Defender didn't live up to the former Defender's legendary reputation, he set out to build his own. The result is the Ineos Grenadier, a Defender 110-sized SUV that captures the aesthetic, and more importantly, the capability, of the original. The Grenadier is built on a bespoke chassis with delightfully boxy bodywork that works perfectly as an updated take on the classic Defender. The drivetrain uses BMW powertrains and components, making the Grenadier easily serviceable nearly anywhere in the world. Two uprated models will be on offer, with the Trailmaster featuring heavy-duty parts like locking differentials, a snorkel, and an auxiliary battery. The Fieldmaster adds more comfort-oriented options like leather upholstery, safari windows, and carpeted floors. Ineos will open orders to the general public in the coming weeks, with reservations taking priority. The Grenadier will be built and the Ineos factory in France.
