Jaguar C-type 70-Edition Continuation Roadsters
The latest in Jaguar's continuation series of classic cars will be two C-Type roadsters as a tribute to Jaguar's 1-2-4-9 finish at the 1953 Le Mans race. Called the C-Type 70-Edition, the first is finished in a special shade of Verbier Silver over Cranberry Red leather — a combination Jaguar says will never be used again. The second C-Type is modeled after the 1953 race winner, finished in the works team color of British Racing Green and Suede Green leather interior. Both cars feature number 70 rondels and 70-Edition stitching. Under the hand-formed aluminum bodywork is a 3.4-liter naturally-aspirated inline-six with triple Weber carbs making 220 horsepower. The secret weapon for Jaguar in 1953 was arguably the Dunlop disc brakes that gave the car formidable consistency over the 24-hour race distance.
