Jimmy Wales' Wikipedia iMac

Jimmy Wales is auctioning off his Strawberry iMac. The Wikipedia founder used the Apple desktop to create the website during its launch on January 15, 2001. The project started as a peer-reviewed and edited encyclopedia originally called Nupedia, but after his daughter's medical condition sent him on a research frenzy that got him nowhere, Wales intensified his efforts, and Wikipedia was born. Just over 20 years later and the website is the world's go-to source for information, housing over 57 million articles in over 300 languages. The sale of the historic internet relic will close on December 15, 2021.
