Joey Ruiter Nomoto Motorcycle Concept
Joey Ruiter's designs are anything but usual, even in the world of custom vehicles. Clean, simple, and overwhelmingly square, Ruiter's eye puts simple shapes into unusual spaces where orthodoxy and computer-aided design demands flowing lines and sweeping curves. Ruiter's latest work, the Nomoto, uses familiar shapes to camouflage instead of attracting. To paraphrase the designer himself, the Nomoto aims to be museum-worthy while simultaneously being so unnoticeable that you'd walk right past it — and he's succeeded. A combination of what looks like industrial electrical equipment hides a pop-out seat, a panel that slides down to reveal the handlebars, and raises up to expose the wheels and ride away — all at the push of a button.
