John F. Kennedy's G-1 Bomber Jacket

Worn by President John F. Kennedy aboard the Presidential yacht Honey Fitz, this G-1 Bomber Jacket is a well-preserved piece of Camelot memorabilia. The jacket is made from dark brown leather with the Presidential seal on the left chest and was purchased by JFK in December 1962. Following his assassination less than a year later, the jacket was retrieved from the yacht and given to White House Staff member Lieutenant Henry E. Hirschy, Jr. It's accompanied by a host of supporting material, including a signed Letter of Provenance from Priscilla Hirschy, a handwritten note, "From Honey Fitz 11/27/63" listing two flight jackets among the President's personal clothing and stating that they were to be sent to Hirschy at the White House, and Lt. H. Hirschy's White House Staff badge. It will hit the auction block on July 23, and will likely sell for far more than its starting bid.
