メキシコシティの岩だらけの地に建ち、そのどっしりとしたファサードに景色を上手く使った「ハウス・オン・ザ・ストーン」。箱を積み重ねたような構造の3階建てのこの家は、現代的な形に一枚岩の存在感を与える素朴な外壁が特徴だ。インテリアも、岩に囲まれた周囲を模してはいるが、ウッドパネルを加えることで温かみある雰囲気に。前面はほぼ閉じられているが、後ろ側はガラス張りで室内から庭や目玉となる高さ15メートルの岩壁が見える。
