The fraught journey, which saw Nott and co-pilot Felix Pole turn off their balloon's burners to slow the ascent, only to suffer a liquid propane leak followed by reignition at 10,000 feet, saw both men become the subject of Rolex advertising, thanking them for proving the Explorer II could operate at such altitudes. The Ref. 1655 watch has a 40mm stainless steel case with matte black dial, tritium hour markers, and a Cal. 1570, self-winding movement, and will arrive with various documentation related to the record-breaking trip.
