Juvenile Ceratosaurus Skeleton
The Late Jurassic period was a long time ago — roughly 150 million years ago. That's also the age of this juvenile Ceratosaurus skeleton. Discovered in Wyoming in 1996, it's in outstanding condition, with 139 original fossil bone elements and additional sculpted materials. Of particular note is the skull, which is virtually complete with 57 fossil bone elements, and is home to 43 teeth. Fully mineralized with a dark grey to black coloration, it has been meticulously prepared, accurately articulated anatomically, and professionally mounted in an action pose on a custom metal armature with jaws open, giving it a menacing aura.
