Powered by artificial intelligence, Kubota's X Tractor concept is a fully autonomous farming machine. Borrowing from the company's Agrirobo line, it can pilot itself, with AI choosing the appropriate action — tilling, seeding, etc. — based on weather data and growth rates. A combination of lithium-ion cells and solar powers four motors attached to track-like crawlers that can be independently controlled, allowing for exceptionally tight turn radii. In addition, the crawlers can also change shape to adjust the tractor height, going low when additional traction is needed, or high when passing over taller plants.
