Leonardo da Vinci's Salvator Mundi

Fewer than 20 original da Vinci's are known to exist. This is your chance to hang one in your own home. Leonardo da Vinci's Salvator Mundi — translated to "Savior of the World" — was rediscovered in the mid-2000s, the first such work to be uncovered in over a century. The painting itself dates back to around 1500, and depicts Christ in a direct half-length pose, with a crystal orb in his left hand and his right raised in blessing. It was carefully researched, authenticated, cleaned, and restored in the years leading up to its 2011 debut at The National Gallery in London, and will be offered as a special lot by Christie's in New York.
