Lexus LF-ZC Concept
Lexus unveiled the LF-ZC concept — and gave it a production date — at the 2023 Tokyo Mobility Show. The LF-ZC is a battery electric vehicle with all-wheel-drive that aims for an exciting drive, and not just with overwhelming acceleration. Lexus plans for drive-by-wire steering to give simulated feedback comparable to the best of analog systems, with the added benefit of linear feel at any speed or steering angle. Eliminating the steering shaft will also help the LF-ZC meet its next goal — more efficient packaging. This is achieved by minimizing major components and better utilizing the prodigious weight of EVs to up the driver experience. Instead of pillar-to-pillar displays or a central tablet, the LF-ZC uses a heads-up display capable of touch interaction, keeping focus on the road. There's also the exterior, an exaggerated, sharp-edged folded paper version of Lexus' current design language. Lexus plans for a 2026 production date for the LF-ZC.
