Lockheed Martin x GM Lunar Rover

NASA plans to start several bases on the Moon with its Artemis program, and those astronauts will need a way to get around once they are there. Lockheed Martin and GM have joined forces for the Lunar Terrain Vehicle, one of a group of robots and vehicles that Artemis will need to explore the lunar surface. The Lunar Terrain Vehicle concept will utilize self-driving and electric propulsion technology GM has developed for its road cars in order to meet NASA's specifications: three astronauts and a 1,102 payload on a single charge for at least 1.2 miles. GM has experience on the Moon — GM built the chassis and wheels for the Lunar Roving Vehicles of the Apollo program.
