Lotus E-R9 Race Car Concept

Electric vehicles have brought a renewed focus on endurance racing that has Lotus looking towards the future with the E-R9 concept. Building on the Evija, the E-R9 has four motors, one at each wheel, with torque vectoring aiding the suspension and aerodynamics to maximize grip and stability — all controlled by the driver. Lotus envisions active aero elements across the car that would reduce drag on the straights while reconfiguring for downforce and changing directions in corners. We won't be seeing the E-R9 on a course any time soon, however — Lotus sees it taking to the track in 2030.
