Almost every word of dialogue in both shows and films comes through the center channel. McIntosh clearly knows this, as they packed the XCS1.5K with drivers so every syllable is heard. It has 25 0.75" dome tweeters and 14 2.5" aluminum midranges mounted on a thin array, sitting in front of four 8" long-throw carbon fiber woofers housed in a vented bass cabinet for added depth. It's also voice-matched to both the XRT2.1K and XRT1.1K floor-standing speakers, so when the latter are used as left and right front speakers, everything sounds uniform. As treble is highly directional, so it also has five preset angles to aim the sound directly at the viewer, and can handle up to 1,500 Watts of power.
