You might expect a McLaren footwear collaboration would result in a driving shoe. Instead, the McLaren x Athletic Propulsion Labs HySpeed channels the companies' penchant for innovation to create a versatile trainer. It has a segmented midsole construction, with FutureFoam pod cushioning in the front and rear, joined by a carbon fiber plate and nitrogen-infused midsole bridge that promotes forward motion and provides maximum energy return. The breathable upper is made from TechLoom, with reinforcement in high-stress zones and a TPU toe bumper. A microfiber heel with a molded external counter works in conjunction with an internal system to provide a lockdown fit, and a pull tab with Soufflé sockliner for easy on and off.
